Structure
Over the next few years, the Chapter's program is transitioning to an Affiliate structure, where States within the US and countries outside of the US operate as affiliates of Dear Asian Youth.
Currently, our chapters are supported by a committee of regional managers and regional leads. In this new format, each affiliate would have an Executive Board, including an Executive Director, and all existing chapters within an affiliate could still function as local chapters – what changes is that they now report directly to the affiliate instead of regional managers.
The Affiliate Structure’s purposes include catering location-specific support to chapters, providing non-U.S.-based chapters the ability to receive the non-profit designation, allowing for executive boards to direct grassroots advocacy and campaigns for their chapters to get involved in, connecting DAY chapters with wider social justice coalitions in their state or country and to increase the sustainability of the chapter’s program.
