Dear Asian Youth
Feminist, Activist, Writer, and Musician, Chris is a proud third generation Chinese-American from San Jose, CA in the Bay Area. Chris is both a Writer for the Dear Asian Youth Literature team, as well the Western Regional Lead for the Chapter Program. He is incredibly grateful to have the space at Dear Asian Youth to connect, write, discuss, and learn about the Asian American Experience, as well as the experience of the Asian Community as a whole. Outside of Dear Asian Youth, Chris is a Junior Attending the Berklee College Of Music in Boston, and also works as a Piano instructor teaching music to kids. You can often find him journaling, playing piano, watching canto-dramas, or busy in meeting!
Half Japanese, half Chinese, and 100% boba enthusiast, Ryan is the Midwest Regional Lead for Dear Asian Youth. He loves celebrating Asian culture, whether it be through sharing childhood stories with Asian-American friends or appraising local Korean BBQ restaurants. Outside of DAY, Ryan spends his time reading books, hitting the gym, or watching anime.
Eva is a Chinese-Canadian writer and chapter regional lead at Dear Asian Youth. She is extremely excited to work with DAY to promote change and empowerment. Eva loves long conversations, roller-coaster rides, basketball, fast food, fun people, and using all-caps.
Chloe is a first generation Chinese American who grew up in Oakland, California, and currently resides in West Los Angeles. She is passionate about combatting racial discrimination, closing the gender gap in STEM, and raising awareness for mental health. Through DAY, she hopes to inspire others to embrace and share their beautiful cultures. In her spare time, she enjoys baking desserts, hiking, bopping to music, and coding. In addition to serving as the South Regional Lead, she is an editor on the social media team and a Chapter Lead of DAY @ LA.
A 17-year-old Filipino gal born and raised in the suburbs of the Windy City, Genesis is enthusiastic about joining the Dear Asian Youth team! She loves expressing her ideas through conversation and Dear Asian Youth is an organization that gave her an outlet to do. Using this platform, she wants to actively share her stories on the hardships identifying as Asian American and how she overcame them. Besides contributing to Dear Asian youth, you will find her at her local high school radio station, practicing a speech for the speech team, or studying in the library for her overwhelming school load. In her free time, she LOVES reading, journaling, and carpool karaoke.
As a passionate 15 year old activist from Ohio, Reya is thrilled to be part of the DAY team. She enjoys finding ways to inform others of the importance of empathy and acceptance. As a Southeast Regional Lead, she is beyond excited to help empower the Asian community and speak out against injustices. Apart from this, you can find her competing in Mock Trial, DECA, and advocating in The Greater Good Initiative.
Parveen, a college freshman in Chicago IL, is a Projects Co-Director and the Northeast Chapters Regional Lead at Dear Asian Youth. With interests in public service and political science, Parveen truly believes in the power of civic engagement— and strives to combine her passions to better advocate for historically excluded communities. When she isn’t busy innovating with her wonderful Co-Director Claire, you can find her curled up with a good mystery book or spending time out and about in the Windy City!
Linda is a Vietnamese-Canadian interested in investigating the connections between biomedicine and sociology, and particularly, advocating for health equity for minority communities. Outside of being the West Regional Lead, Linda spends her time creating or listening to music, writing, volunteering, and going on long walks around sunset.
Based in Toronto, Canada, Natalie is a Co-Regional Outreach Lead for Dear Asian Youth. As an undergrad student studying Health Studies, Natalie is passionate to raise awareness of Asian intersectionality, as well as creating a safe space of inclusion for AAPI community. Outside of DAY, you can find her trying out new food and bubble tea spots around downtown Toronto, watching anime, playing guitar, or jamming out to kpop.
As a 16-year-old from Etheria, Parth could not be more ecstatic to work for Dear Asian Youth! They love educating others about important issues plaguing society and taking action to advance social causes. In their free time, they can be found re-binging She-Ra, attempting to read, and sleeping. They are also involved with organizations such as Junior State of America, Generation Ratify, and High School Democrats of America.
Claire is a first-generation Chinese American born and raised in Kentucky. She is a Co-Regional Outreach Lead for the Chapter program. She hopes to promote accessibility to Dear Asian Youth further so that more Asian American youth can become empowered all over the nation. In her free time, Claire enjoys writing legislation at youth think tanks, advocacy at nonprofits, and binging the newest animes and k-dramas.
